TEDxShoreditch is a yearly event bringing a high quality conference with exceptional talks to the heart of Shoreditch.
It is also run by our founder, Sabrina Chevannes, who has had ties to Shoreditch for the last few years.
Her goal is to show that Shoreditch is an incredibly diverse part of London, with such an open-minded culture and tons of underrepresented voices which need to be heard.
She runs a yearly event for the main TEDxShoreditch plus a women’s event, which is not necessarily just for women, but it does have the theme to amplify issues heavily related to women.
Next year, she’s hosting regular Salon events, which will happen monthly, to help build the community of TEDxShoreditch.
Be True To Who You Are
Each TED event has a theme and this year’s theme for TEDxShoreditch was Be True To Who You Are.
The reason behind it was because of how much focus there is on authenticity and what it really means to the world.
We had 7 incredible speakers who all shared their personal story, as well as their expert insights on 7 super interesting topics.
Ryan Hopkins: The Future of Wellbeing
Jason Graystone: How to achieve freedom from anything
Pascalle Bergmans: How to take back your identity and live authentically
Suzy Lockwood: Why your company needs Generation Z
Nick Raeburn: The childish way to become an amazing adult
Alice Stephenson: Be a flamingo in a flock of pigeons
Lee Chambers: Male Allyship: Masculinity’s biggest threat
Why did N0BS Members get to go?
N0BS is all about community, and so is TEDx. There’s definitely a lot of shared values with the two brands – and lifelong learning is one of them.
Therefore, we made free TEDx tickets one of the perks of the N0BS membership and many of our members took us up on this for yet another great N0BS day out!
