Our June book club event was with Poppy Jamie – a Forbes 30U30, bestselling author, neuroscientist, media personality and successful entrepreneur.
Poppy is the author of bestselling book Happy Not Perfect, which was a popular choice among our founders.
Her new book, The Book of Magical Living is all about finding the secrets to success.
She lays out 8 “secrets” that she’s discovered on her turbulent journey that have helped her find the success that she has found today.
For those who are not that “woo” and may be skeptical, you’re not alone, as a few of our members (including our founder) were not sure how they felt about the spiritual side of the book.
But you have to also remember that Poppy is a neuroscientist and the CEO of Cuddle Sleep. So, all of her research and findings is backed by science.

The evening felt very magical in itself – N0BS who had never met each other really drawn together and finding common ground. Big announcements made from members about their future and other members reacting with genuine support and love.
We had our usual champagne reception, followed by an extremely emotional and empowering chat.
Our founder, Sabrina Chevannes-Denman interviewed Poppy about her journey, why she decided to write the book and what our entrepreneurs can get out of it.
Listening to deeply difficult stories like Poppy losing two pregnancies at 5 months, only to bounce back and use it as a strength, really put a lot of things into perspective in the room.
Both Sabrina and Poppy shared stories of deeply hurtful things that happened to them in their lives, only for them to realise how great these things were. And how it’s put them where they need to be today.

The Book of Magical Living is not a purely spiritual book, despite the title. It’s not just for people who love the woo woo stuff. It’s baked in science and is deep and meaningful, filled with personal stories.
We recommend it to any founder who is looking for some inspiration and wants to unlock the best of themselves.
The book is available to buy now!
Next book club: Sahil Bloom – 5 Types of Wealth.
